Tim Gokey, President of H&R Block’s Retail Tax Services, oversees the company’s U.S. and international retail tax services, small business services, and Corporate Marketing function. In addition, Gokey is a member of the company’s Executive Committee and chairs the company’s Operating Committee for H&R Block-branded business units.
Gokey assumed his role in June 2004. As a partner with McKinsey & Company, he previously served as a senior consultant on several key company initiatives including the real estate expansion strategy and differentiation through advice. Since joining, he has begun to reposition Block around the expertise of its Tax Professionals, worked to improve end-to-end client service, and presided over the company’s largest retail expansion effort in its history.
Gokey was with McKinsey & Company for 15 years. At McKinsey, he led the firm’s North American Financial Institutions Marketing and Sales practice. Earlier, he led McKinsey’s North American CRM Practice. In these roles, he worked with numerous retail financial services companies on a broad range of strategic and operational initiatives.
Gokey is a Rhodes Scholar and holds a doctorate in finance and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University. He also received a joint bachelor’s degree in management engineering and public affairs from Princeton University. |
