Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Tim Burgess is responsible for Simdesk’s legal affairs. His career spans more than three decades, cultivating experience in corporate and business law with specialized expertise in intellectual property law.



Tim has served as patent counsel for Humble Oil & Refining Company (predecessor of Exxon USA) and as Vice President and General Counsel of publicly traded AMEX company Hycel, Inc. In private practice, he has represented such companies as Boehringer Mannheim Diagnostics (now Roche Diagnostics), Sysco Corp., Baker Hughes Co, Lyondell Chemical Company, the University of Texas Board of Regents and The Texas Heart Institute in intellectual property matters involving patent procurement, enforcement and licensing, nationally and internationally.



Tim holds a bachelor's of science in chemistry from the University of Texas and a doctor of jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
