Tim Barry is responsible for the overall design and construction of the Ritz-Carlton resort project in Rose Island, Bahamas. This mixed-use resort includes a world class marina facility, hotel and support facilities, marina commercial center and an array of residential products. This virgin island which is located four miles northeast of Nassau harbor, requires installation of all support infrastructures. Development costs are projected to be in excess of $1 billion. Tim has over 30 years experience in design and construction management, most recently with Marriott International where he was Vice President of Project Management. A partial list of projects for which he was responsible during his 14 years with Marriott includes: Grande Lakes, a 1600 room Ritz and JW Marriott resort property located in Orlando, FL; a major renovation program for the Marriott owned Courtyard brand hotels, and; ground up development of over 60 hotel properties including both limited and full service hotels. In his last role at Marriott, he worked in the Development division, providing project management services for corporate investments in large, multi-use projects including both hotel and residential elements. Prior to joining Marriott, Tim worked for various engineering, building contractors and construction managers in the mid-Atlantic area starting as an entry level engineer and progressing to Senior Vice President for a major national contractor. His well rounded background includes exposure to the design, construction and accounting disciplines. Tim received his Bachelor of Science degrees from Northwestern University in Civil Engineering and the University of Kansas in Architectural Engineering. He is a licensed professional engineer (active) and certified professional accountant (inactive). |
