As senior vice president, Tim Thein oversees technical services for financial aid and predictive modeling, statistical modeling, and information technology for Noel-Levitz. Mr. Thein has been a key figure in applying predictive modeling to student recruitment and retention, helping institutions pinpoint which prospective students are likely to enroll and which enrolled students are at risk of dropping out. Recently, he has spearheaded the application of predictive modeling to analyzing the default risk of students with loans. His areas of expertise also include systems development, statistical research, new technologies management, staff training and development, and computing.
Mr. Thein consults directly with campuses that are using ForecastPlus, the Noel-Levitz predictive modeling service. He has worked with more than 100 campuses, including DeVry University (TX), Pima County Community College (AZ), Art Center College of Design (CA), University of Texas at Austin, College of Charleston (SC), New England Institute of Technology (FL), Jackson State University (MS), and Clark Atlanta University (GA). Prior to joining Noel-Levitz, he served as a programmer and software support technician for the U.S. Geological Survey Technology Information Center.
