Tilman Bender, who grew up in Germany and Canada, began his career with a management consulting firm supporting German companies setting up overseas sales, distribution and manufacturing operations. Subsequently he relocated to Hong Kong where he was a Key Account Manager with Techtronics Industries, a large manufacturer of mobile phone components and one of the leading Chinese OEMs manufacturing products for companies such as Motorola, AEG, Ryobi and Sears.
In the mid-nineties Mr. Bender returned to the United States to lead the Midwest operations of highly specialized consulting firm which provided strategy consulting, executive search and M&A advisory services to European companies entering into and expanding their presence in the North American markets. Before founding T. H. Bender & Partners, Mr. Bender was a Principal of the Global Technology Practice of TMP Worldwide, a publicly traded Fortune 500 company and one of the four largest executive search firms worldwide.
Mr. Bender holds the German equivalent of a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart. He majored in International Management and Human Resources. His academic research focused on executive selection and assessment methodologies as well as international market entry strategies.
Mr. Bender is co-chairman of the human resources group of the German-American Business Association of California and board member of several companies. |
