Thomas Thaler graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETHZ) in biochemistry and holds a Ph.D. in life sciences. In addition, he has earned an MBA from ETHZ. He has more than 15 years of experience in the biotech and medical technology industry holding senior management positions with Sulzer Medica/Sulzer Orthopedics (Manager Applied Research, responsible for R&D in biomaterial science, biomechanics and biological science, for reconstructive, trauma, spinal and cardiovascular implants), Schneider Europe (Director Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, responsible for clinical research / development and registration of minimally invasive cardio-vascular devices) and Boston Scientific.In April 2000 he joined Bank Julius Baer as a medical technology and healthcare services equity analyst responsible for global healthcare investment recommendations. Beginning in 2006 he joined HBM Partners, one of the world’s largest investment advisory groups in the field of human medicine, biotechnology and medical technology, as an Investment Advisor for private and public equity investments in medical technology companies. |
