Thomas Nagel assumed office as Chief Operating Officer of LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG (LSG Holding) on March 9, 2005. He is responsible for the majority of the company’s worldwide operations on all continents except North America, encompassing around 150 locations in 46 countries. Additionally, he supervises LSG Sky Chefs’ major corporate cost optimization projects as well as the airport restaurant and lounge activities. Following his studies and final law exams at Bonn University, Thomas Nagel joined Lufthansa in May 1977. From that year on through 1990, Nagel gained extensive experience in several departments in the transportation policy division, once holding the position of Executive Board Consultant for North and South America as well as Asia/Pacific. Starting in 1990, he took on managerial responsibilities as Head of Product Management at Lufthansa Passage division. In 1992, Thomas Nagel established ‘Lufthansa-Express’ as a division. In 1994/1995 he assumed control of Lufthansa Passage Area Management for Africa, Middle East and Asia/Pacific. From 1996 on Thomas Nagel held various leading positions, culminating in the position of Area Manager Ground Services. In 2001, he moved to Munich to take up the position of Managing Director of the operating company for airport terminal 2 and Hub Manager for Lufthansa. |
