Mr. Murray has responsibility for all of InterContinental Hotels Group’s owned and managed hotel operations spanning Canada, the United States and Latin America.
Prior to being named COO for the Americas region, Mr. Murray served as area president, midscale operations, North America for InterContinental Hotels Group. In that capacity he was responsible for managing the sales, marketing, financial performance and new business development of InterContinental Hotels Group’s company-managed properties in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America.
Before joining InterContinental Hotels Group, Mr. Murray served as chief operating officer of Red Lion Hotels and Inns, a former division of Hilton Hotels Corporation that included more than 40 hotel properties and more than 6,000 rooms. Prior to his tenure at Hilton, Mr. Murray built an extensive career in the lodging industry that started in the property-level finance and control area for Marriott Corporation. Mr. Murray then moved to the management of single- and multi-unit hotel operations for the Embassy Suites brand, and then to the Promus family of brands, where he held senior-development assignments that included the development of the Hampton Inn brand in the Western United States.
Mr. Murray is on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Georgia and holds a degree in accountancy from Villanova University. |
