Thomas Masterson is senior vice president, consumer marketing and manufacturing at Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. since April 2006. He oversees Hachette’s consumer marketing strategy and operations as well as the printing and distribution of all magazines.
Prior to joining Hachette, Masterson served as VP/managing director for Business Week in Asia from May 2005 to February 2006 and was responsible for advertising, research and business development in the Asia-Pacific region. Masterson was VP/worldwide circulation director for Business Week based in New York City from 1998 to 2005, where he handled circulation marketing, building readership and internet marketing for North America, Europe and Asia.
Masterson spent two years at K-III (now Primedia) as director of planning responsible for the circulation of their special interest publications and handling numerous acquisitions as VP/business development. From 1988 to 1996, Masterson was with Newsweek overseeing ratebase management and circulations finances.
Masterson received Crain’s Media Business Innovation Award for Top Circulation Executive (2005) and was profiled for a Print Magazine cover story in 2004. He has served on the ABC Magazine Directors’ Advisory Committee, the Magazine Publishers of America Senior Consumer Marketing Committee and was former vice chairman of the Society of Publishers in Asia. |
