Tom Harper is a seasoned executive with a proven track record in management, finance, sales, marketing and business development. Mr. Harper started his business career in commercial banking and spent 13 years at executive levels with major banks headquartered in New York City and Houston. Mr. Harper also spent 12 years in the energy industry where he managed and directed Institution Funding, which raised almost one billion dollars from public and private foundations and endowments, corporate pension funds and insurance companies for direct investment in oil and gas.
In December, 1998, Mr. Harper reorganized and recapitalized a privately owned professional services firm, The Procurement Centre, which specialized in providing contract procurement and materials management professionals primarily to the energy industry. As Chairman and principal investor he organized and guided a management team that significantly grew the company’s supply chain management revenues and profits as well as expanded the company’s industry base to include the chemical and refinery, auto, airline, textile, concrete and banking industries. In October, 2002, The Procurement Centre was sold to Resources Connection, a publicly traded (RECN/NASDAQ) international professional services firm specializing in providing contract professional in accounting and finance, human resources and information technology.
Mr. Harper is active in many civic and charitable organizations which includes a Director of the World Health and Golf Association, Co-Chairman of the Ambassadors for the Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship at Whispering Pines Golf Club, Trinity, TX, a member of the President’s Advisory Board, University of Houston Downtown, Director of River Oaks Country Club and The University of Texas at Austin Fine Arts Commission. |
