He also has experience in dealing with various purchased services initiatives medical/surgical distribution pharmacy distribution and lab distribution. Tom has assisted in the development of several cost reduction methodologies relating to clinical specialty products distribution and GPO contracting. Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron Tom was a Manager in the Supply Chain practice of Wellspring Partners now a Huron Consulting Group Practice. While there he was primarily responsible for developing cost reduction strategies for physician preference items and implementing these solutions within their client base.

Delivered in excess of $2.6 million in identified and implemented orthopedic and cardiovascular implant savings at a large multi-site academic facility with over 1 200 beds.
Led assessment and implementation of surgical and implant savings initiatives totaling over $2.5 million at a large 6-hospital integrated healthcare system.
Directed multiple teams throughout the implementation of a non-labor cost reduction program at an eight hospital system in the Midwest which resulted in over $62 million in annual realized bottom line savings over a three year period.
Developed multiple implant negotiation and utilization strategies to reduce implant costs at health systems and academic medical centers across the U.S.
Developed and executed GPO assessments at multiple facilities resulting in the selection and successful renegotiation of GPO contracts and GPO membership terms.
Conducted detailed studies of contrast media usage and contrast media delivery in Cath Lab and Radiology for a healthcare system in the Midwest resulting in more than $1 million dollars in savings by streamlining delivery systems and utilization protocols.
