Thomas S. Downie is an associate in the Insurance Practice Group.
Tom received his bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware in 1994 and his M.B.A. from Temple University's Fox School of Business in 1996. Tom then went on to receive his J.D. from Temple University's Beasley School of Law in 2003. He also worked as insurance agent, broker and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) between 1994 and 2003, when he owned and managed an independent insurance agency.
During law school, Tom received the Barrister's Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. He then put his litigation skills to work at a suburban Philadelphia law firm, where he handled a variety of civil defense litigation matters in federal and state courts throughout Pennsylvania, including insurance coverage disputes, as well as insurance fraud and bad faith litigation.
Tom has handled numerous arbitrations in both state and federal court. Tom has also appeared in state and federal court where he has presented oral arguments on motions and conducted evidentiary hearings. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. |
