Mr. Behnke is a managing director in FTI’s Corporate Finance practice and is based in Houston. He has a diverse background in financial and litigation consulting and is one of the firm’s leading experts in assisting debtors in the area of claims management. He has developed a broad range of expertise in all phases of claims management, including assisting in the preparation of the statement of financial affairs and schedules of assets and liabilities, acting as the court’s claims administrator in docketing proofs-of-claim, performing claims estimations, soliciting and tabulating ballots on plans of reorganization and making cash distributions.
Mr. Behnke’s specific financial experience includes analysis of a complex corporate structure with more than 500 legal entities and real estate partnerships, estimation of trade claims in a major national retail concern using a statistical approach, and assistance in analyzing and developing cash projections in a major restructuring. He also has experience providing litigation support services, including lender liability issues, loan portfolio reviews, arbitration matters, fraud investigations and damage calculations. Mr. Behnke’s background includes four years of performing audit services. His industry experience includes retail, manufacturing, real estate, healthcare, financial services and petroleum.
Mr. Behnke's expertise in the area of claims management has been demonstrated on numerous engagements. He is currently assisting debtors such as Dow Corning Corporation, the Babcock & Wilcox Company, Enron Corp., Federal-Mogul Corporation and USG Corporation. In addition, his past engagements have included debtors such as Armstrong World Industries; Federated Department Stores, Inc.; Envirodyne Industries, Inc.; Rexene Corporation; Southmark Corporation; Macmillan, Inc.; Trans World Airlines, Inc.; Jamesway Corporation; Carter Hawley Hale Stores, Inc.; Megafoods Stores, Inc.; Jay Jacobs; Triad Healthcare; and W.R. Grace & Co. Mr. Behnke has also provided financial consulting services to debtors and creditors on a number of significant engagements, including Southmark Corporation, Businessland, HealthVest, MCorp and the William and Nelson Hunt Liquidating Trusts. |
