With over 20 years experience in the IT industry, Bayer has a broad range of computer and software knowledge and a thorough understanding of the European and Asian markets. Prior to joining Leica Geosystems, Bayer was a project scientist at the German Aerospace Research Center (DLR), a manager for GEOSYSTEMS GmbH and held various management positions in Sun Microsystems GmbH. In 2004, Bayer became the Chief Learning Officer & Regional Manager for Sun Microsystems (UAE) Ltd., Dubai, UAE, overseeing Sun’s learning services in Southern and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. In 2007, Bayer joined Leica Geosystems, managing the European and CIS business unit. Bayer holds a Master of Science and PhD from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany. |
