Tom Mathews has been with LJA for more than 14 years and is responsible for the delivery of services to more than 60 clients. Before joining LJA, Mr. Mathews spent more than ten years with a large public accounting firm where he specialized in auditing public companies in the retail, financial and real estate industries.
Mr. Mathews works closely with clients of all sizes in the design, installation and administration of their qualified retirement plans (including profit sharing plans, money purchase pension plans, 401(k) profit sharing plans and Employee Stock Ownership Plans). His clients range in size from five to 1,000 participants, including approximately 40 clients with daily-valued 401(k) plans. He works with a number of law firm clients as well as clients in a variety of other industries, including high technology, retail, manufacturing, consulting and transportation.
Mr. Mathews is a frequent author and speaker on current developments in the retirement plan industry, qualified plans and related issues. He received his B.S. degree in Accounting from California State University, Hayward, where he graduated with honors. A CPA, he is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Western Pension & Benefits Conference, the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries and the ESOP Association |
