Thomas Hood is a well-respected transactional tax lawyer whose practice emphasizes the tax aspects of corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, domestic and international transactions, and securitization and financial products. In 2007, Chambers USA noted that "Thomas Hood . . . is heavily involved in the structuring of hybrid securities on a cross-border basis. His knowledge of products marks him out as a 'cut above average,' and he is frequently called on for advice on structured finance and capitalizations."
Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 1993, Thomas served as Counselor to the federal Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, DC. Previously, he was a senior tax partner at a major law firm in the Midwest.
