Thomas P. Whelley II has wide experience in the preparation of complex business litigation cases, the defense of employment law cases, and other litigation matters. Mr. Whelley began his practice at Smith & Schnacke in Dayton in 1977 and remained with that firm as a partner until 1989. He was a partner in the law firm of Thompson, Hine & Flory from 1989 until 1992. He joined Chernesky, Heyman & Kress P.L.L. in 1992 to head its litigation group. He has assembled a top-notch litigation team that has vast experience in business, employment, tort, and related fields.Mr. Whelley received his B.A. from Kings College in 1972 and his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1977. While at law school, he served as Editor-In-Chief of the Law Review. Mr. Whelley has been an adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Dayton teaching Civil Trial Practice and Evidence from 1987 to the present. Mr. Whelley is a Master of the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court. He is President of the Board of Advisors of the University of Dayton School of Law, Second Vice President of the Dayton Bar Association (President 2009), and Past President of the Legal Aid Society of Dayton. He has served on a number of Boards in his community throughout the years.He has been named among the "Who's Who in Law" for business litigation and employment law in The Dayton Business Journal. He has also been named by his peers as an "Ohio Super Lawyer" in Law & Politics Magazine and Cincinnati Magazine and as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the Woodward/White publication.Mr. Whelley is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio, the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and has been admitted pro hoc vice in numerous courts throughout the country. |
