Mr. Kearns devotes his practice to commercial real estate law and business transactions. His recent legal projects include real estate purchase and sale transactions; leases; construction contracts; subdivision, zoning, annexation, and other land development matters; real estate and asset-based financing transactions, including downtown Denver office buildings; real estate and other loan workouts; and asset and stock purchase and sale transactions. Mr. Kearns represents owners, operators, developers and tenants of office, retail, shopping center, recreation, industrial, and ranch properties; national, regional, and local lenders, including banks, insurance companies, and other lending institutions; and residential homebuilders. Mr. Kearns has practiced with Fairfield and Woods since 1981. He currently serves on the Firm's Executive Committee. Mr. Kearns is a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. He is a former member of the Real Estate Section Council of the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors of the Colorado Bar Association. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Opera Colorado. He serves as president and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Galen and Ada Belle Spencer Foundation, a private foundation which supports local and regional arts and other charitable organizations. Mr. Kearns was born in Baltimore, Maryland and enjoys opera, golf, and squash. |
