Tom Colberg is Chief Operating Officer of Major, Lindsey & Africa's global permanent legal placement business which consists of over 100 recruiters and business development professionals in 21 offices worldwide engaged in placing attorneys in corporate, not-for-profit, and government law departments and associates and partners at law firms. Tom previously was Vice President for MLA's Central region and global head of the in-house placement group.
Prior to joining MLA, Tom was a partner in the consulting practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Washington, D.C. and Chicago with a concentration in strategic consulting, process improvement, technology implementation, and change management. He was the office managing partner for PWC's consulting group in Chicago. Other prior experience includes the Illinois Bureau of the Budget, the Federal Office of Management Budget, and two specialized independent consulting ventures focusing on technology and business strategy. He earned his B.A. in political science and Soviet area studies and an M.A. in linguistics from the University of Illinois where he graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and Bronze Tablet and was a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship National Designate.
Tom has authored and contributed to numerous books and professional publications, including The Price Waterhouse Electronic Data Interchange Handbook; Better Change - Best Practices for Transforming Your Organization; and Changing vs. Rearranging.
Tom is active in civic and community organizations and serves on the school board in Kenilworth, Illinois. He is past president of the Kenilworth United Fund, a member of the Joseph Sears School Foundation, and a former member of the board of directors of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
