Dr. Thomas M. Stank is a native of Pennsylvania and has lived in Jonesboro, AR, for the last 15 years. He and his wife are the proud parents of their son, Thomas M. Stank,II. Dr. Stank graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in bioengineering and was also elected to the Tau Beta Phi national engineering honor society. He completed his medical degree at Penn State University where he received the Sandoz Award for recognition of superior academic achievement and contribution to health care. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and also completed fellowships in glaucoma and oculoplastic surgery in 1990. Dr. Stank has performed several thousand microsurgical procedures specializing in cataracts, glaucoma, and oculoplastic procedures. He is also certified in the use of the VISX Star S4 Active Trak Excimer Laser for refractive surgical procedures. Dr. Stank is certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Society and the Arkansas State Medical Society.
