Tom is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., a position to which he was appointed in January 2000. He is responsible for treasury, tax, accounting and control, business planning and analysis, internal auditing, and several other keys areas of the Company. In addition, during June 2005, the lead financial executive in each of the operating segments (Wal-Mart, SAM'S CLUB, and International) began reporting directly to him.
Prior to his employment at Wal-Mart, Schoewe served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Black and Decker Corp., a position he held from 1993-1999. Prior to that, he served four years as Black and Decker's Vice President of Finance and was responsible for all financial operations except treasury and tax functions. He previously held the position of Vice President of Business Planning and Analysis. He joined Black & Decker in 1986 after serving at Chicago-based Beatrice Companies, where he was Chief Financial Officer and Controller of Beatrice Consumer Durables, Inc.
During October of 2001, he joined the Board of Directors for Centex Corporation.
Tom graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a bachelor's of business administration degree in finance. He also attended the University of Chicago's executive master of business administration program and is a member of the Financial Executive Institute. |
