Thomas M. Cunningham is a patent attorney in the firm's Chemical Practice Group. His practice includes the prosecution of chemical and biotechnological inventions.
Dr. Cunningham is a former patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He received his Law degree from the George Washington University. He has been a post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Drugs and Biologics at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He received his Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of California at Los Angeles, where he investigated the molecular biology of host/parasite interactions. He holds an S.B. in Life Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he studied genetics and the molecular biology of plants. He also has an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from the Anderson School of Management at U.C.L.A.
Dr. Cunningham's publications include articles on molecular biology, disease pathogenesis, electron microscopy, identification of drug-binding proteins, and on biochemical fractionation techniques.
Dr. Cunningham is an active member of the Virginia State Bar and the American Society for Microbiology. |
