Thomas M. Connolly is counsel in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Chicago office. He is a member of the Tax Department.
In 2003, Tom joined the Firm's Tax Department, where his practice focused on tax controversy and tax planning for corporations and partnerships. Also, Tom was Senior Tax Manager in the Partnership Solutions group in the National Federal Solutions practice at a Big Four accounting firm in Chicago. He worked on structuring transactions and modeling partnership tax issues, especially allocations under IRC section 704(c).
In prior work experience with a large international accounting firm, Tom has advised publicly-held corporations on a variety of transactions, including restructurings, mergers, spin-offs and asset dispositions. He has also advised both public and private real estate investment trusts (REITS) on REIT qualification issues.
Tom is admitted to practice in Illinois.
