Tom Edmunds oversees operations of First Republic Mortgage Corporation, Inc., Atlantic Community Title Services, the newly-formed Seacoast Realty, LLC, and the Bayside Resort’s community sales and rental programs. Tom, who was recruited to join the Company in 2003 to create a unified real estate services company within the Freeman Companies, is a 28- year veteran of the real estate finance industry, former licensed realtor, Federal Housing Authority direct endorsement underwriter, and has served twice as the chairman of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association’s Finance Committee. He is considered an expert in the field of residential real estate finance and affiliated business relationships. Tom’s relationship with the Freeman Companies began in 2000 when, as Senior Vice President and Production Manager for Sandy Spring Mortgage, he provided material assistance in setting up the Freeman Companies’ mortgage banking company, Coastal Community Mortgage, LLC. Tom began his career with The Rouse Company of Columbia, Maryland where he was trained as an underwriter and loan officer, became a top producer, and moved quickly into management. Throughout his career, Tom has held regional and senior management positions with several local financial institutions including Crestar Bank (now SunTrust), Traveler’s Mortgage, and First Performance Mortgage. In 1990, Tom provided material assistance in the acquisition of a 14-office Coldwell Banker franchise in the Washington, D.C. area. Then, in partnership with the owners of the franchise, Tom opened his own mortgage brokerage company, Service First Mortgage, which eventually sold to Commonwealth Bank of Pennsylvania. Tom earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Maryland. |
