Tom Maloney joined Excel in 1997 as Technical Project Manager and Systems Engineer and brings over eleven years of enterprise systems expertise, significant experience with large, multi-technology, multi-site implementations, as well as multiple technical certifications to his current role as CTO. Since joining Excel, Tom has led both U.S. Domestic and international deployment projects involving systems migration, new installations, server farms, workstation and server remediation, desktop rollouts, data center build outs, new office systems design, implementation and post support. Tom currently manages the office infrastructure for CP Ships operations in Asia. In addition to project and technical leadership, Tom oversees Excel's day-to-day technical operations and maintains Excel's Technical Excellence Program providing oversight of the currency and training of Excel technical staff in the latest hardware, networking and software technologies and information technology operations processes.
Tom began his career with Maxon Services in Nashua, New Hampshire in 1991 performing technical telephone support, bench engineering and testing, installation and upgrades, security auditing and account management.
Tom joined General Mills, Inc. in 1994 in Birmingham, Michigan where he led support for electronic mail systems. In this role, Tom led the migration from CC: Mail to Microsoft Exchange and managed user support for Outlook 98.
In 1996, Tom joined Softech as Project Leader responsible for implementing a virtual private network between offices in Montreal and Quebec City. This implementation required the installation of ISDN technologies and proxy servers at both sites as well as the relocation of a Domino server database utilizing the VPN.
