Thomas (Tom) J. Vacchiano Jr., President and CEO, as well as a Member of the Board of Directors, joined X-Rite as part of the July 2006 Amazys acquisition. Tom served since January 2001 as President and CEO for Amazys Holding AG. Amazys was a publicly traded color technology company headquartered in Switzerland and holding company of GretagMacbeth. Tom built his career in a number of large multinational technology companies including NCR, AT&T, DEC, and Xerox.
Before joining Amazys as its’ CEO, Tom was President and CEO of Xerox Engineering Systems (XES). XES was a $400 million subsidiary of Xerox and a part of Xerox New Enterprises. Tom joined Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in 1994 where he was given an increasing range of responsibilities over his 4 years in the $6 billion Systems Business Unit. He held the position of Vice President of Sales Operations and Planning, and reported to the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the division.
Prior to joining DEC, Tom spent 17 years with NCR during its time as an independent company and after its acquisition by AT&T. Starting his career with NCR in 1977, Tom held a series of increasingly responsible positions in finance, sales, marketing and general management. Before departing the company in 1994, Tom held the position of Vice President of Marketing for NCR’s $2 billion Personal Computer Business.
Tom is a graduate of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and MBA with a concentration in finance. |
