Thomas J. Schnitzer, M.D., Ph.D., has partnered with D. Anderson & Company for more than 16 years. He draws from his foundation in medicine to advise DAC leadership on scientific aspects of the clinical trials process.Dr. Schnitzer is professor of medicine and assistant dean for clinical research and director of the Office of Clinical Research and Training at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. Before joining Northwestern University, he was professor and director of the Section of Rheumatology and director of the Section of Geriatric Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. He also was co-director of the Center for Research on Health and Aging at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center. Dr. Schnitzer has served as medical director and consultant to many institutions, including the Johnston R. Bowman Health Center for the Elderly and the Marianjoy Rehabilitation Center.Dr. Schnitzer has written more than 100 journal articles, book chapters and abstracts covering the field of arthritis and pain management. His published works have appeared in numerous medical journals, including New England Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Medicine, Arthritis and Rheumatism, Journal of Rheumatology, Journal of Virology, Clinical Therapeutics, and others. In addition, he has contributed to the authoritative Cecil Textbook of Medicine. A board-certified clinician, Dr. Schnitzer graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University and cum laude with a medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his internship and residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. |
