Thomas J. O'Brien became a Director and member of the Audit Committee in February 2006. He has been Head of the Finance Department at the University of Connecticut since 1999 and has been a professor at the University since 1986. Previously he held positions at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill; University of North Carolina Charlotte; and Duke University. In addition Dr. O'Brien has written several books and has co-authored a number of papers and articles on the subject of finance.
Dr. O'Brien received a B.A. in Economics from Davidson College and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Florida.
