A native of Jackson, Tom has earned the designations of Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and in 1998 became one of the first CPAs in the United States to earn the designation Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV). Tom attended Belhaven College, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He entered public accounting and acquired extensive experience in all areas of federal and state income taxation, estate taxation, private and governmental auditing, personal financial planning, management advisory, litigation support, and medical management services. As managing partner of the firm, Tom continues to lead by example, emphasizing continuous learning throughout his career to provide a wider range of services for clients. Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Mississippi Society of CPAs, Financial Planning Association, Institute of Certified Financial Planners, Estate Planning Council, and Medical Group Management Association. He is also a volunteer in many community organizations and has served on the boards of Belhaven College, MS Chapter of Financial Planners, North Jackson Youth Baseball, MS Planned Giving Council, and Jackson Kiwanis Club. Tom has written articles for the Mississippi Business Journal, the Clarion-Ledger, and the Mississippi Medical News and has spoken on numerous occasions regarding financial management. Over the years, he has been engaged in more than one hundred court and arbitration cases as an expert witness or consultant. Married to the former Teena Wells, also a Jacksonian, the Granthams are parents of Bethany and David. The family attends First Baptist Church of Jackson, where Tom is a Deacon and has served on the Finance and Audit Committees. In his leisure time, Tom enjoys golf, tennis and travel. |
