Tom is a Managing Director of The Silverfern Group and brings over 20 years of senior Mergers and Acquisitions and financing experience to the Silverfern team. He has extensive expertise advising both public and privately held companies in acquisitions and divestiture programs and raising growth/acquisition capital for corporations in the middle market.
Prior to joining The Silverfern Group, Tom was President of Remien Capital Inc., a privately-held Mergers and Acquisitions firm which he founded in 1995 to serve the advisory needs of middle market companies. At Remien Capital he advised corporate and private-equity clients on M&A transactions and growth capital/acquisition financings across a range of industries including publishing, entertainment, software, and food manufacturing.
Prior to founding Remien Capital, Tom was a founding member of the Exclusive Sale and Divestiture Group at Merrill Lynch & Co. During his six-year tenure at Merrill Lynch, Tom was responsible for providing investment banking and corporate finance advisory services to corporate clients represented by over four thousand Merrill Lynch financial advisors. Early in his career he developed an expertise for executing both growth capital and acquisition financing for middle market companies at both Michigan National Bank in Detroit and Bank of America in Chicago.
Tom is a member of the Association of Corporate Growth and a Board Member of East Side Settlement House in the South Bronx, New York. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Michigan State University, his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in Philosophy and Economics, and has completed Columbia University's Mergers & Acquisitions Executive Education Program. |
