Thomas H. May is a shareholder of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. As Chair of the firm’s Employment and Labor Law Group, he concentrates his practice in the areas of Employment and Labor Law and Civil Rights. He regularly represents employers of all sizes, engaged in a variety of enterprises, including health care, transportation, and the food and beverage industry. For twenty-five years, Mr. May has been litigating before administrative agencies such as the EEOC and NLRB and in state and federal courts. He has handled cases involving race, age, sex, and disability discrimination at both the trial and appellate level. Mr. May is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania; Supreme Court of the United States; United States Court of Appeals for the Third, Fourth, and Sixth Circuits; and United States District Court for the Western and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Section on Labor and Employment Law, where he serves as a member of the EEOC Committee and the Committee on Developments under the NLRA. He is also a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel, the Sports Lawyers Association, and the Allegheny County Bar Association in its Labor Law Section and Federal Court Section where he serves on council. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. May served as a Manger of Labor Relations for Ampco-Pittsburgh Corporation. Mr. May graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1974 with a B.A. in Criminology. He received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1977. Mr. May is a frequent lecturer on employment law topics before the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and has written about employment and labor issues in various publications including the Lawyers Journal and the Pittsburgh Business Times. He was named in the 2008 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. |
