Thomas G. Powell is vice president and general manager - DuPont Advanced Fiber Systems. Mr. Powell started his career at DuPont in 1982 in Aiken, SC.
Over the next several years he held various assignments in Engineering, Technology, Production, and Product Line Management in South Carolina, California, Texas, and Delaware. In 1995, Mr. Powell relocated to Singapore as Asia- Pacific regional business and operations manager for DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers. Following three years in Asia, Mr. Powell returned to Wilmington, Del., and was named global business manager for the DuPont Ethylene Copolymers Business. In 1999, he became managing director of the DuPont Intellectual Assets Business, a newly formed business focused on management and licensing of the DuPont portfolio of technologies. In 2000, he was named a global business director for DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers, focusing on the packaging, construction, consumer goods and transportation industries. He was named president - DuPont Greater China in January 2004 and assumed the added responsibility of president - DuPont China Holding Co. Ltd. in September 2004. He was named vice president and general manager - DuPont Building Innovations in July 2006. He was named to his current position in June 2007.
Mr. Powell is a native of South Carolina and a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. |
