Dr. Lammertse obtained his medical degree at Ohio State University. He received his board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation in 1985 and in electrodiagnostic medicine in 1989.
Dr. Lammertse joined the Kessler staff in 1990 department head in 1990 and has directed several key committees at the Chester-Welkind facility. Prior to this, he served as the director of the spinal cord program and staff physiatrist at Gaylord Hospital (Wallingford, CT) and as a physiatrist in the amputee clinic at Hartford Hospital (CT). While living in Ohio, Dr. Lammertse held the position of medical consultant for the State's Bureau of Disability Determination and for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Columbus and Franklin Counties. He also worked for the U.S. Public Health Service and in the field of industrial medicine.
A noted educator, Dr. Lammertse once taught chemistry at Ohio State University and was a clinical instructor in the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at Yale University.
Dr. Lammertse's major research interests are in the areas of head injury and electromyography. He is Fellow in the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and an active member of a number of professional organizations. |
