Mr. Zacharias serves as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of the Asset Management Department. He is also President of Corporate Property Associates 16 Global Incorporated (CPA®:16 - Global), an income generating real estate fund managed by W. P. Carey.
Prior to joining W. P. Carey, Mr. Zacharias was a Senior Vice President of MetroNexus North America, a Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund Enterprise capitalized for the development of internet data centers. Prior to joining MetroNexus, Mr. Zacharias was a Principal at Lend Lease Development U.S., a subsidiary of Lend Lease Corporation, a global real estate investment management company. Between 1981 and 1998 Mr. Zacharias was a senior officer at Corporate Property Investors (CPI), which at the time of its merger into Simon Property Group in 1998, was the largest private equity REIT.
Mr. Zacharias has experience in acquisitions, financing, development, leasing, restructurings, and asset management in real estate. He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Princeton University in 1976 in Architecture and Urban Planning, and an MBA from Yale School of Management in 1979. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, and NAREIT. |
