Description of Practice:
Thomas E. Gibbs is a partner in our Orange County office where his practice focuses on real estate litigation and dispute resolution. His significant experience in real estate matters includes representing developers in pursuing land use entitlements and handling CEQA litigation or other challenges. He also has represented numerous developers in partnership disputes, construction contracting and course of construction problems, as well as any other problems or issues which arise in property development. He has significant experience in dispute avoidance, resolution, mediation, arbitration and trial.
Mr. Gibbs is a member of the State Bar of California, American Bar Association, and the Business Litigation and Real Estate Sections of the Orange County Bar Association. He is also a Judge Pro Tem for the Orange County Superior Court as well as a Judicial Arbitrator. He has been a panelist for the CEB Real Properties Remedies Practice Seminar and has spoken and written on litigation avoidance, dispute resolution, construction disputes and general business litigation.
Educational History:
Mr. Gibbs is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, with a B.A., cum laude, in economics, and a B.A., summa cum laude, in social ecology. He also graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Gibbs received his J.D. from the UCLA Law School, graduating 10th in his class. He was Comments Editor of the Federal Communications Law Journal and was honored upon graduation with the Order of the Coif. |
