Mr. Sass is senior vice president, Underwriting/Risk Management for KMG America Corporation and is a member of the Corporate Management Committee. He is responsible for underwriting, corporate communication & marketing, product development, risk management and corporate operations in Minneapolis.
Prior to joining KMG America in December 2004, he worked for Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America as vice president of underwriting and the LifeTrac Transplant Network. Mr. Sass was a member of the senior management group responsible for managing the healthcare risk management division and directly managed the LifeTrac Transplant Network, the second-largest commercial organ and bone marrow transplant network in the United States.
Before joining Allianz Life, Mr. Sass worked for ING/ReliaStar as second vice president, underwriting. He was responsible for all the pricing and underwriting in the group insurance division. In his 20 years at ING/ReliaStar, Mr. Sass held positions responsible for underwriting, contracts, policy issue, claims, administration, client reporting and a board position on an international insurance pool. Mr. Sass has been a member of the insurance community since 1980.
Mr. Sass earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Minnesota. He is active in industry groups and initiatives that influence public policy. Mr. Sass serves as chair of the Board of Trustees of Groves Academy, a school committed to helping students with learning disabilities. |
