Thomas Martin has a 30-year background in the warehouse merchandising industry. He started at the first Price Club warehouse in 1977, working his way through various roles in store operations, until eventually joining the Price Club Buying Team in 1982. Later, as Merchandising Manager for Price Club, Tom opened and directed the Northern California Foods Buying Office. In 1990, he relocated to San Diego as Price Club Vice President for Merchandising. His responsibilities expanded to apparel and domestics and other non-food catagories. He later assumed responsibility for new deals and real estate acquisition that developed the PriceSmart Guatemala and Caribe joint ventures, which resulted in PriceSmart's expansion into Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. He also managed the start up and direction of PriceSmart's Asia direct merchandising sourcing program. Today, Tom directs the entire merchandising program for PriceSmart. |
