Mr. Quick has been a Director of the Company since February 1999. From 1996 until he was appointed Vice Chairman in 2001, Mr. Quick was the President and Chief Operating Officer and a director of Quick & Reilly/Fleet Securities, Inc., successor to The Quick & Reilly Group, Inc. ("Quick & Reilly"), a holding company for four (4) major financial services businesses. From 1985 to 1996, he was President of Quick & Reilly, Inc., a Quick & Reilly subsidiary and a national discount brokerage firm. Mr. Quick serves as a trustee for the Securities Industry Foundation for Economic Education. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Best Buddies and a member of the Board of Trustees, the Investment Advisory Board and the Endowment Committee for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. He is a trustee and treasurer of the National Corporate Theater Fund, the United World Colleges and the Alcoholism Council of New York, and a Trustee of Fairfield University, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories and the Inter-City Scholarship Foundation of New York City.
