Director of the Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of Texas in Houston. He has served Baylor College of Medicine for nearly 30 years in several senior positions, including as Chairman of the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics, where he continues to be an adjunct professor. Dr. Caskey was Senior Vice President, Research at Merck Research Laboratories from 1994 to 2000 and Trustee and President of the Merck Genome Research Institute from 1999 to 2000. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine and the National Academy of Sciences. He also is chairman of the Board of Lexicon Genetics. Dr. Caskey earned his medical doctorate from Duke University and is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Clinical Genetics, Metabolic Diseases, and Molecular Diagnostics. |
