Thomas A. Doherty joined the Board of Directors of New York Community Bancorp, Inc. and New York Community Bank on October 31, 2003, in connection with our merger with Roslyn Bancorp, Inc. In addition, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors of New York Commercial Bank since it was established on December 30, 2005. From 1999 until October 31, 2003, Mr. Doherty served as a Director of Roslyn Bancorp, Inc. and The Roslyn Savings Bank. Mr. Doherty formerly served as the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Fleet Bank (Downstate). Mr. Doherty also was the Chief Administrative Officer of First Quality Enterprises, Inc. and its affiliates, a privately-owned manufacturer of non-woven materials and hygiene-related products, where he is now a consultant. Additionally, he is a Trustee of St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn), a Trustee of the Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation (associated with North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York), and an Associate Trustee of the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System. |
