I manage new business development for kajeet, a job that includes marketing, product, infrastructure, content and strategic partner relationships.
Before I joined kajeet, I spent five years at Nextel Communications, where I led Nextel's business development for digital media, mobile commerce and new business innovation. I developed Nextel's first mobile content business deals and negotiated deals with a wide range of companies to provide mobile games, ringtones, wallpapers, applications and mobile text services. I also negotiated the early content deals for Boost Mobile and executed early business-to-business mobile application deals.
Before Nextel, I was marketing manager for the telecommunications practice within GE Global Exchange Services, where I managed all aspects of marketing, including PR, marketing communications, business development and sales support. Stretching back a bit further, I worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers as a consultant in their change management and business process redesign practice, focusing on both government and commercial businesses.
Overall, I've worked in the software, telecommunications, consulting and automotive fields (hey, I used to design trucks) and I have more than 20 years of experience in new product and business development, strategic planning, project + quality management and marketing communications positions.
I hold an M.B.A. from Georgetown University and a B.S.M.E. degree from UC Berkeley. I absolutely loved math and science as a kid and envisioned myself a leading scientist in some laboratory learning new things everyday - which is one of the reasons why I joined kajeet -- ours is a company with an unwavering interest in bringing kids and technology together via this wonderful world of wireless. |
