Ted Beringer founded the Mid-Atlantic Companies, Ltd. with the goal of fulfilling a perceived need of owners of closely held businesses a sophisticated, one stop, financial services organization devoted exclusively to this market. From a staff of only two, Ted built Mid-Atlantic to an organization of over 120 specialists in various financial accounting, and legal disciplines with offices and over 2000 clients throughout the U.S.In December of 1998, First Union National Bank acquired the Mid-Atlantic organization and Ted stayed on to assure a smooth transition. In July, 2000 Ted formed a new, independent venture called Beringer & Company, dedicated to strategic consulting, mergers and acquisitions, and the management and preservation of wealth for high net worth families.
