As an associate consultant for Noel-Levitz, Terry Richards offers more than 30 years of experience in enrollment management and financial aid. Currently, Mr. Richards serves as vice president for student enrollment at Xavier University (OH). There he oversees undergraduate admissions, weekend and adult education programs, financial aid, summer session, and enrollment research. Previously, Mr. Richards served at Loyola University Chicago (IL) as associate vice president for enrollment management and executive director of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. There he implemented Web-based recruitment processes that greatly streamlined recruitment, admission, and financial aid operations. He also reconfigured the admissions office to improve the efficiency of local recruiters, and implemented regional recruiters to support a national recruitment program. His efforts led to tremendous increases in enrollment. Between 2000 and 2007, applications grew from less than 4,000 to more than 19,000, and freshman enrollment rose from just under 900 students in 2000 to nearly 2,200 students in 2006. He also helped Loyola lower its discount rate.
Prior to his tenure at Loyola, Mr. Richards served as director of the Accounting and Compliance Administration Divisions for the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. He also has more than 15 years in campus-based financial aid positions, including serving as director of financial aid at Loyola University Chicago and Wayne State University (MI).
Mr. Richards holds an M.A. in counseling from Marshall University (WV) and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in higher education policy at Loyola University Chicago. |
