Terry joined direct marketing agency Smith Bundy in 1978, learning the craft of copywriting under George Smith. After four years he left to become Creative Director of DDM Advertising, rising to the Board within two years. In December 1986, he set up Evans Hunt Scott. Under the creative direction of Terry Hunt and Ken Scott, Evans Hunt Scott earned over 100 UK and international direct marketing and advertising awards. Terry also built one of the most respected creative departments in the business with 45 full-time creative staff.In 1993 Terry was closely involved in the development and testing of the Tesco Clubcard, and was instrumental in the re-launch of the Clubcard programme to wide media and City acclaim during 1999. In 1996, Terry was voted Agency Direct Marketer of the Year. He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing in 1997 - the same year that Evans Hunt Scott were voted Campaign 'Direct Marketing Agency of the Year'.In 2001 Terry led the merger of Evans Hunt Scott with digital design agency Real Time, to create a new direct-digital-data integrated agency. 2002 saw the merger with Brann to create EHS Brann, one of the biggest direct agencies in Europe. Terry Hunt is the agency's Chairman. Terry has been married for 25 years, has two sons, avidly supports Wimbledon FC (somebody has to), fishes and sails and finally, his first co-authored book, titled Scoring Points, has at long last been published - it gives you the inside story of how Tesco became number one by winning customer loyalty. |
