Terry Filliman is the managing partner in the Sacramento office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. He specializes in management employment law, administrative law, public school law, and labor relations. He handles general human resources matters, labor negotiations, administrative hearings, arbitrations, and employment litigation, including defense of management in discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and other employee claims. Mr. Filliman represents public entities, including school districts, special districts, local governments, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses. Mr. Filliman earned his undergraduate degree from California State University, Sacramento. He earned his Juris Doctor from University of California, Davis School of Law. He served as a partner representing public and private clients at Littler, Mendelson, Fastiff, Tichy & Mathiason for 11 years prior to opening the Sacramento office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. Mr. Filliman formerly served as Consultant to the California Senate Education Committee, and as staff in the California Assembly. He also served as Legislative Director and Attorney, California State Department of Education. He was appointed a member of the Joint Legislative Committee to revise the Education Code in 1975. He helped establish the operations of the Public Employment Relations Board in 1976, and served as its initial Associate General Counsel and later as Supervising Administrative Law Judge. |
