Mr. Caloghiris joined DuPont in 1979. During his career, he has held a variety of senior positions in sales and marketing, and in technical, manufacturing and business management, in the Polymers, Packaging, Electronics, Films, and Nylon businesses. Mr. Caloghiris has had assignments in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Since 1998, Mr. Caloghiris has served as vice president and general manager of various DuPont businesses - Global Nylon Industrial, Nylon Asia Pacific, Packaging and Industrial Polymers, Engineering Polymers and Performance Coatings Transformation. He was named to his present position in January 2006.
Mr. Caloghiris has served as chairman of the Operating Board of the American Plastics Council (APC), the major trade association for the U.S. plastics industry. Additionally, Mr. Caloghiris is a member of HRH the Prince of Wales Business and Environment program.
Mr. Caloghiris was born in Cairo, Egypt and comes from a Greek - British family background, engaged in business and diplomatic activities. His multicultural experience has been further enhanced through studies and various work assignments around the world.
After qualifying at the Universities of Surrey, in the United Kingdom, and Caen, in France, with degrees in metallurgy and French, and after election as a chartered engineer, he worked in the steel, machine tool industries, and in nuclear research, before joining DuPont. |
