A lead attorney of Godfrey & Kahn's Employee Benefits Practice Group and Of Counsel in the Milwaukee office, Terrence K. Knudsen practices in tax, labor and employment law with a particular emphasis on employee benefits.
Terrence's practice includes the design, implementation and administration of tax-qualified pension, profit-sharing, 401(k) and employee stock ownership plans, as well as non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements and cafeteria plans. He counsels financial institutions and fiduciaries on ERISA matters, and represents parties in ESOP financing transactions. Terrence frequently speaks to business and professional groups. A graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in business administration, Terrence received his legal training at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he graduated cum laude with the Order of the Coif. He is listed in Who's Who in American Law and in The Best Lawyers in America in the employee benefits law category. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Bar Association, as well as a member, former director, and past president of both the Greater Milwaukee Employee Benefits Council and Wisconsin Retirement Plan Professionals, Ltd. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Wisconsin Employee Benefits Association and is a lecturer on employee benefits law at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School and Marquette University Law School.
