Mr. Ashanta-Barker is an associate in the Business and Finance Department of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP. He graduated Valedictorian from Robert A. Taft High School. He received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Tuskegee University and his law degree from The Florida State University College of Law. While at Tuskegee, he was President of the Tuskegee Chapter of the American Society of Chemical Engineers, a Procter and Gamble Scholar, a PepsiCo Scholar, and a member of the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge National Team. At Florida State, he was a Virgil Hawkins Fellowship Recipient, a CLEO Fellowship Recipient, a staff member of the Florida Sports Law Quarterly, a board member of the FSU College of Law Appropriations Committee, President of the Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Society, and a state-approved student lawyer in the FSU Children's Advocacy Center. Prior to joining Taft, Mr. Ashanta-Barker served as Chief Operations Officer and General Counsel for Small and Carter Investments Company (S&CI). Prior to S&CI, he worked with law firms in Florida and worked as a process engineer with Chevron U.S.A. Products Company, PepsiCo, Inc., and the Procter and Gamble Company. He is a current board member of the Cincinnati Business Incubator and the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation and a former board member of the Y.M.C.A. He is also a graduate of Grass Roots Leadership Academy and the United States Presidential Classroom. Mr. Ashanta-Barker also has been selected for C-Change, the leadership development program for young professionals developed by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. He is a volunteer for the Special Olympics and various other community service initiatives. Mr. Ashanta-Barker is admitted to practice in the States of Georgia, Florida, and Ohio. |
