Terence T. Healey is a partner in the Energy and Derivatives Markets Group, resident in McDermott Will & Emery’s Boston office. Terence focuses his practice on regulatory proceedings, transactional issues, negotiations and governmental affairs and agency litigation. He also advises on energy and energy-related transactions.
Prior to joining the Firm, Terence was in private practice focusing on regulatory and commercial issues in the area of public utility and energy law. He also has experience counseling clients on regional transmission tariffs, power purchases and sale agreements, interregional coordination, congestion management and the design and operation of wholesale markets for energy, capacity and ancillary services. In addition, Terence has represented numerous clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Terence has also advised a variety of financial institutions, hedge funds and lenders on the restructuring and acquisition of debt and equity in multiple distressed generation companies throughout the United States.
In 1999, Terence was a judicial intern for the Honorable George O’Toole of the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts. Followed by another judicial internship in 2000 for the Honorable Water J. Skinner also of the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts.
Terence is a member of the Energy Bar Association and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.
