Teobaldo S. Cuervo-Delgado is Vice President of Business Development for Smilex. Teo is one of the pioneers in Digital Diagnostic Imaging with over 25 years of experience, both clinically and in business. He has a Masters in Science degree in the application of Physics in Medicine. While doing his Masters studies, he had the opportunity to work with one of the first clinical CAT Scanners in the world. This opportunity provided him with an in-depth knowledge of the clinical uses of this new and revolutionary technology. His strong scientific background and the clinical experience acquired during five years of intensive work with some of the early luminaries in CAT scanning clearly established him as an authority in the field and strengthened his credibility with the medical community. He joined Technicare Corp., a co-developer of the CAT Scanner technology and later a leader in the development of new digital imaging technologies like Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Digital Subtraction Angiography. He worked closely with the physicians at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, the clinical partner for Technicare. Teo traveled around the world introducing the new technology as it became available, giving lectures to physician groups on the benefits of the new technology. When GE Medical Systems purchased Technicare, Teo was one of the few retained by them to continue in his international role as both clinical and marketing expert for their technologies. He successfully established GEMS as a leader in Vascular Digital Imaging both in Asia and later in Latin America. After GEMS’s acquisition of the French Imaging and Radiation Therapy manufacturer CGR and with his background as a Physicist, he became product manager for Latin America for this technology. He successfully introduced it throughout the Region, placing more orders than all competitors combined. He acquired valuable experience in managing difficult projects in difficult markets, furthering his reputation among the luminaries both internationally and domestically. |
